ecomedia

Bright Blue Ecomedia is a Vermont-based non-profit committed to applying ecological design on human systems at various scales.
We define "ecomedia" as "the capacity for a social system to express itself". There are three ecological principles that we strive to include in our media projects:
  1. Diversity
  2. Interdependence
  3. Self-organization
The media and storytelling techniques that we teach are informed by a set of ethics and values, which we borrow from other ecological design strategies. Permaculture is a design science informed by three ethics (1) care of earth, (2) care of people and (3) return of surplus. The Masters in Leadership for Sustainability Program at the University of Vermont is anchored in four communications values (1) Learning, (2) Well-being, (3) Love and (4) Relationship. These ethics and values inform our media-making techniques.
